On June 10, 2021, excavation of the foundation for the 170 t/h CDQ proper designed to support the 1.4 mtpa coke oven at Shanxi Sunshine Coking Group, for which our company serves as the EPC general contractor, began successfully, marking the official start of construction for the project.
This project is a retrofit initiative located on the west side of the existing 6m top-charging coke oven. To the east of the coke oven are desulfurization and denitrification pipelines, and to the north is the coke screening tower. The construction area currently contains coal and coke conveyer galleries, underground cable trenches, and a sewage pump house, which the client must demolish before handing over the construction site. With complex construction environment and limited space, in order to ensure the project proceeds smoothly and efficiently, project management personnel began on-site coordination with the owner in January of this year regarding the demolition and relocation of existing facilities, thereby securing optimal construction conditions for the 9.5-month construction period. This is the project with the shortest construction period and the most complex construction environment the company has ever undertaken. All members of the project team will uphold Huatai’s fine traditions to ensure quality, quantity, and timely completion, delivering a satisfactory outcome to both the owner and the company.
